One voice
Lead · Lesson 1 of 3 · LD1
The 1st step of the lead track in PatchPond's subtractive synthesis curriculum. One expressive voice — and this lesson is where you meet mono + glide/portamento for the first time.
▸What you'll learn
Singing a phrase versus chopping it into separate words. Mono mode is the singer; poly mode is a chord.
Mono mode forces the synth to play one note at a time. Press a new key while holding the old one and the synth retunes the existing voice to the new pitch rather than starting a fresh voice. Read more →
▸Built on
A dimmer switch for treble, with a side knob that lets the dimmer ring like a struck wine glass.
A low-pass filter lets low frequencies through and gradually cuts everything above a chosen cutoff frequency. Full definition →

Build this lesson live in the PatchPond studio. Web MIDI in, on-screen keyboard otherwise. The patch you make here loads back into iOS later on — same patch format.
